There are several ways to get to Casas Kismet from the airports in Liberia and San Jose, Costa Rica. Whether you prefer private transfers, public transportation, taxis, or rental cars, there is an option to suit every traveler's needs and budget. Just remember to plan ahead and research your options before you arrive in Costa Rica.
Traveling from the airport in Liberia, Costa Rica:
Liberia International Airport (LIR) is the closest airport to Casas Kismet. The airport is approximately 80 miles from Nosara, which can take 2 1/2 to 3 hours in a van or car. There are several ways to get to your Kismet from here.
- Private Transfers: This is the most convenient way to get to your destination from the airport. We can arrange for a private transfer with a reliable tour operator or shuttle company, we like to use Nosara Happy Cab. They will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at our hotel or any other destination you desire. This is ideal for families or groups of travelers who want a hassle-free travel experience.
- Public Buses: If you are on a budget, you can take a public bus from Liberia airport to your destination. There are several bus routes that operate from the airport, and you can find schedules and routes online or at the airport. However, buses can be crowded, and you may have to change buses to get to your final destination.
- Rental Cars: If you prefer to drive yourself, you can rent a car from one of the car rental agencies located at the airport. Make sure you look into how to rent a car internationally. This is a great option if you want to explore the region on your own, but be sure to research the driving conditions and laws in Costa Rica before you go. - Sansa Flight: This a great option, especially if traveling solo.Its only about a 25 minute flight to Nosara, and the air strip is only 10 minutes from Kismet. However, this is a small plane with only 12 seats and allows limited amounts of luggage. Also, depending on the weather this can be a bumpy flight and may not be a good option for some people. You can book the flight ahead of time direct on their website.
Traveling from the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica:
Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) is located in Alajuela Province, just outside of San Jose, which is the capital city of Costa Rica. The airport is approximately 159 miles from Casas Kismet and takes approximately 4 and 1/2 to 6 hrs by van or car.
- Private Transfers: As with Liberia airport, private transfers are the most convenient way to get to your destination from San Jose airport. We can arrange for a private transfer with a reliable tour operator or shuttle company. We typically use Happy Cab.They will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at our hotel.
- Taxis: Taxis are readily available at the airport, and they are a convenient way to get to your destination. However, taxis can be expensive, and you should negotiate the fare before you get in the taxi. They will be much more expensive than in Liberia due to the increased distance.
- Public Buses: If you are on a budget, you can take a public bus from San Jose airport to your destination. There are several bus routes that operate from the airport, and you can find schedules and routes online or at the airport. However, buses can be crowded, and you may have to change buses to get to your final destination.
- Rental Cars: If you prefer to drive yourself, you can rent a car from one of the car rental agencies located at the airport.
- Sansa Flight: Sansa flights are available in San Jose and they usually have more flight times. Tickets are a bit more than Liberia due to duration, but still only a 40 minute flight. Visit their website for more information and be sure to checkout the luggage requirements.
